The Electro-Mechanical Systems & Assembly Technician - Level II supports the fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of precision electro-mechanical systems and instrumentation.

The ideal candidate brings practical experience with electronics, electrical systems, mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, fluid systems, refrigeration, vacuum systems, and precision instrumentation. The technician works closely with Engineering and Production to interpret technical requirements and convert engineering designs into functional, production-ready hardware.

The position also supports customer equipment repair, technical documentation, process improvement, and quality verification. The successful candidate demonstrates strong technical judgment, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the ability to work independently after appropriate training.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Assembly & Integration

·         Assemble and integrate complex electro-mechanical systems, precision instrumentation, mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and related components.

·         Install electrical wiring, cables, connectors, tubing, fittings, and mechanical components.

·         Fabricate wiring harnesses and cable assemblies and perform precision soldering.

·         Assemble pneumatic, fluid, refrigeration, vacuum, and mechanical subsystems.

·         Perform dimensional checks, adjustments, alignment, and verification of completed assemblies.

·         Build assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, bills of materials, and approved work instructions.

Testing, Troubleshooting & Repair

·         Test and troubleshoot completed assemblies and systems.

·         Diagnose electrical and electronic problems to the component level.

·         Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, fluid, refrigeration, and vacuum systems.

·         Perform leak detection, pressure testing, and system restoration.

·         Use standard electrical measuring devices and appropriate diagnostic tools to identify faults and verify system operation.

·         Determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and document results.

·         Repair customer-owned equipment and prepare completed repairs for testing and return shipment.

Engineering & Technical Support

·         Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, assembly drawings, and technical specifications.

·         Review engineering drawings and physical assemblies for dimensional, tolerance, clearance, and configuration issues.

·         Utilize SolidWorks, SolidWorks Viewer, or eDrawings to review 3D models and support assembly verification.

·         Communicate assembly challenges, design concerns, tolerance issues, and manufacturability feedback to Engineering.

Documentation & Process Improvement

·         Develop, revise, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, test procedures, troubleshooting documentation, and technical records.

·         Maintain accurate production, maintenance, repair, and test records.

·         Analyze production and maintenance information using Microsoft products.

·         Identify opportunities to improve assembly methods, product quality, reliability, and production efficiency.

·         Support corrective and preventive actions related to manufacturing and equipment performance.

Quality & Safety

·         Perform work in accordance with engineering specifications, OEM requirements, approved procedures, and TSC quality standards.

·         Identify and communicate quality issues and deviations.

·         Follow established inspection, testing, documentation, and safety requirements.

·         Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications (Required)

·         Five years of relevant experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing, precision instrumentation, electronics, aerospace, industrial equipment, or a comparable technical environment.

·         Demonstrated experience assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment.

·         Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with complex equipment.

·         Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, fluid, refrigeration, and/or vacuum systems.

·         Proficiency using standard hand tools and electrical measuring devices.

·         Ability to systematically troubleshoot problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

·         Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities after training.

·         Effective written and verbal communication skills.

·         Demonstrated commitment to quality and safe work practices.

Qualifications (Preferred)

·         Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.

·         Experience in precision instrumentation, aerospace, laboratory equipment, or other high-accuracy manufacturing environments.

·         Experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks Viewer, e-Drawings, or comparable CAD software.

·         Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

·         Experience with refrigeration systems, compressor cycles, vacuum systems, pressure testing, and leak detection.

·         Experience with sensors, or electrical controls.

·         Familiarity with IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements.

·         Experience developing standard operating procedures, technical work instructions, test procedures, or manufacturing documentation.

·         Experience using Microsoft Excel for production or engineering data analysis.

·         Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.

Physical Requirements

·         Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds.

·         Stand and walk for extended periods and maneuver around machinery and equipment; occasionally sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

·         Perform precision work requiring close-range visual focus and hand-eye coordination .
