Position Summary We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled mental health therapist to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to provide direct clinical services within a supportive, growing private practice setting. Key Responsibilities As a Mental Health Therapist at Wayfinder Counseling, you will be responsible for: Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessments: Conducting thorough initial diagnostic assessments to accurately identify mental health disorders and formulate appropriate clinical impressions. Individualized Treatment Planning: Collaborating with clients to develop person‑centered, measurable treatment plans with clear goals, objectives, and interventions. Regularly reviewing and updating treatment plans to reflect each client’s progress and evolving needs. Therapeutic Intervention: Providing appropriate, evidence‑based interventions during individual, couples, and/or family therapy sessions to facilitate improved responses to a wide range of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship issues, life transitions, and stress management. Clinical Documentation: Maintaining timely, accurate, and comprehensive clinical documentation of all client interactions, including intake assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with ethical, legal, and professional standards and utilizing our secure Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, Simple Practice. Ethical Practice: Adhering strictly to professional ethical guidelines (e.g., ACA Code of Ethics, AAMFT Code of Ethics) and all relevant state and federal laws (e.g., Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, & Marriage and Family Therapist Board) regarding client confidentiality, professional conduct, and scope of practice. Collaboration: Engaging in collaborative efforts with your supervisor (for dependently licensed clinicians) or clinical director, as well as communicating effectively with administrative staff to ensure seamless client care and practice operations. Professional Development: Committing to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in the field of mental health counseling. Qualifications Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited program. Licensure: Current, active, and unencumbered license in the State of Ohio: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision designation (LPCC-S) Licensed Social Worker (LSW) Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation (LISW-S) Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) Independent Marriage and Family Therapist with Supervision designation (IMFT-S) Experience: 1‑5 years of post‑graduate clinical experience providing direct mental health counseling services in a professional setting. Experience working with diverse populations and presenting issues is preferred. Clinical Skills: Demonstrated strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills. Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, systemic approaches) is highly valued. Documentation Skills: Excellent written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail in clinical documentation. Technology Proficiency: Comfort and proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and standard office software. Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to build strong therapeutic alliances with clients and foster positive relationships with colleagues. Independence & Reliability: Ability to work independently, manage a caseload effectively, and demonstrate strong organizational and time‑management skills. Compensation This is a compensation‑based contractor position with a competitive session split ranging from $40 - $100 per session . Compensation is dependent on licensure level (e.g., independently licensed vs. dependently licensed) and productivity (number of sessions conducted).
