Become a vital part of a hospital team in Petersburg, VA as an experienced Computed Tomography Technologist. You will accurately follow physician scanning instructions, administer IV contrast per protocol, operate CT imaging equipment, and contribute to patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. The position requires independent functioning in a fast-paced environment and consistent adherence to radiation safety and documentation standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of CT technologist experience required. 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• Current ARRT registration required. ARRT-CT preferred.
• Active BLS certification required.
• Valid state radiology/CT licensure for Virginia required.
• Demonstrated IV start competency.
• Experience working with GE CT systems strongly preferred (GE Revolution Ascend 64-slice preferred).
• Experience with EPIC and PACS preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency department environment and handle inpatient and outpatient cases.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (no local candidates).
• Ability to perform a minimum of approximately 30 cases per shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS preferred.
• Previous experience in a trauma or high-volume ED setting preferred.
• Familiarity with multi-step procedure data handling and advanced CT protocols preferred.

Assignment Details

• Weekend coverage: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
• Weekend shift hours: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM.
• Will work inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients.
• Minimum 30 cases per shift.
• May be asked to cover at other facilities within the market as needed.

As a travel CT technologist you will provide essential imaging services that support diagnosis and treatment across care settings. You will follow departmental policies for quality control, equipment maintenance, patient education, and radiation safety. You will participate in departmental meetings and in-services and may assist in training students or trainees as required.

Petersburg, VA sits within an accessible drive to Richmond and historic Civil War sites. The city is approximately 25 miles south of Richmond and near the Petersburg National Battlefield and Appomattox Court House National Historical Park. The area offers regional access to the James River for outdoor recreation and is within reasonable commuting distance to cultural attractions in Richmond and access to Interstate 95 for regional travel.
