Responsibilities

Technical Project Manager About the Role

The client's initiative leads are accountable for delivery outcomes, technical decisions, and final acceptance across their initiatives. This role provides dedicated planning and delivery support so that senior technical owners can focus on decision-making and technical direction rather than the day-to-day work of decomposing tasks, maintaining Jira plans, coordinating dependencies, and keeping reporting current.

Accountability Model

Initiative leads retain ownership of project outcomes, scope decisions, technical direction, and escalations. The Technical Project Manager is accountable for making each plan executable, current, and visible - translating initiative intent into epics, stories, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and forward-looking status updates that initiative leads can use to run the work day to day.

Why This Role Exists

The gap isn't ownership, it's planning and execution bandwidth. This role gives initiative leads a dedicated operator who can turn complex security and network initiatives into clear, owner-agreed plans with actionable tasks, dependencies, dates, risks, and supporting evidence.

Core Responsibilities

• Initiative Planning - Decompose work into Jira epics, stories, tasks, milestones, dependencies, dates, and named owners. Baseline plans with initiative leads and keep them current.
• Delivery Management - Run initiative cadence, coordinate handoffs across engineering teams and vendors, and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions. Prepare owners for POD and leadership reviews.
• Reporting and Evidence - Maintain structured Jira data and planning artifacts so engagement reporting, utilization views, milestone status, and monthly evidence can be produced directly from the system of record.
• Process Uplift - Standardize the planning approach, improve Jira discipline, and document a repeatable playbook that can later support a coordinator layer.

Required Experience and Skills

• 8+ years managing enterprise network, infrastructure, or cybersecurity delivery in large, regulated environments.
• Strong Jira capability, including work breakdown structures, issue hierarchy, workflows, JQL, worklogs, reporting, and structured-field hygiene.
• Practical understanding of firewall refresh, policy optimization, micro-segmentation, API security, WAF, load balancing, DMZ, and security enclave concepts.
• Experience coordinating hardware-dependent delivery, including procurement lead times, staging, data center change windows, RFCs, and multi-site rollout sequencing.
• Ability to influence senior technical stakeholders without owning technical design authority, with clear, concise written communication suitable for executive review.
