In this position, youll provide nursing care for patients over the telephone utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the current American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) Telehealth Nursing Practice Administration and Practice Standards./ph3Job Duties Responsibilities/h3ulliManages clinical calls using the nursing process/liliListens actively, intently, and for a sufficient length of time/liliDemonstrates initiative and a systematic approach to interviewing and history taking/liliDocuments significant data/liliGathers quantitative and qualitative data/liliTasks are measured by observation of the evaluator, feedback of the provider, and review of the electronic health record/liliDemonstrates critical thinking skills in assessing the relevant needs of the caller/liliSystematically assesses and addresses patients needs with decision support tools/liliElicits the reason for the call (such as the chief complaint)/liliQuickly identifies emergent signs and symptoms/liliObtains history of symptoms, associated symptoms, and allergies/liliDetermines priorities/liliProvides care consistent with the functional requirements of the persons developmental age during customer interaction/liliProvides care advice to the caller/patient specific to their needs/liliSupports patients and families in self-management of their health through education/liliDemonstrates the Creating SMILES and AIDET philosophies to patients, families, and coworkers/liliAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards./li/ulh3Skills Requirements/h3ulliDiploma in Nursing or Nursing or an associate degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license required/liliBachelors Degree in Nursing preferred/liliRN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact required/liliBLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association required/lili2 years pediatric experience required/lili2 years recent clinical experience in a physician office, home health, critical care and/or emergency room preferred/li/ulpTexas Childrens Pediatrics is the nations largest primary pediatric care network with more than 200 physicians dedicated to the health care needs of infants to teenagers in over 50 locations throughout the greater Houston area.
