As the Electrical Distribution System (EDS) Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our vehicles’ low-voltage and high-voltage Electrical Distribution Systems meet rigorous design requirements, engineering specifications, and—most importantly—the high expectations of our customers.This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role. You will partner with diverse engineering teams, program management, and global suppliers, leveraging standardized Ford processes and industry-leading quality tools to drive product excellence from concept through production.You'll have... This position is a range of salary grade 7 and 8 which ranges from $84,480-$162,120. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week. #LI-Hybrid #LI-DS1What you'll do...Lead Failure Mode Analysis (FMA): Spearhead FMA activities for upcoming, next-generation Ford and Lincoln vehicle models to proactively identify and mitigate risks.Collaborate on Risk Analysis: Partner with Design & Release (D&R) Engineers and Vehicle Program Management Teams on Change Point Analysis and Risk Analysis to build and execute robust FMA work plans.Deliver Quality Milestones: Guide and support D&R Engineers to ensure all Ford Global Product Development System (GPDS) Quality Deliverables are successfully executed on time.Drive Root Cause & Prevention: Lead cross-functional teams in rigorous root-cause analysis and establish permanent Prevent Recurrence Actions (PRA) for quality issues identified before, during, and after vehicle launch, utilizing structured problem-solving tools (with a strong emphasis on the 3-Legged 5-Why approach).Develop Foundation Quality Documents: Collaborate with D&R Engineers and external supplier teams to author and refine critical quality documents, including Quality History, Boundary Diagrams, Interface Matrices, P-Diagrams, Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA/PFMEA), Special Characteristics, and Control Plans.Optimize Process Controls: Work hand-in-hand with engineering and supplier partners to identify, define, and implement robust process control methods aimed at the prevention and early detection of failures.Full timePosting Date: 2026-07-28
