Energy Industry Specialist (International) - Washington DC (Onsite)

ICF is seeking an Energy Industry Specialist (International) to assist with coordinating programs, projects, events, and activities focused on an International Energy Security program within the U.S. Department of Energy. Work includes conducting research, fact finding, and analysis of energy sector policies and infrastructure. This position also entails significant stakeholder engagement, including regular interaction with senior staff across multiple federal agencies as well as industry officials and the associations that support them.

Please note: This position is supporting our client onsite Monday - Friday in Washington DC. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate activities between key stakeholders including DOE, other federal agencies, and the electric and oil & gas sector industry. Support technical writing and communications, including editing, reviewing, and formatting documents, and creating presentations and briefings. Manage logistics for meetings, including taking effective meeting minutes, tracking milestones and priorities, and following up on meeting action items. Minimum Qualifications: Please note experience includes internship(s) Bachelor’s degree in energy policy, public policy, government, communications, economics, business, or a related field and 4 + years of experience in providing administrative or program support in a professional setting. OR -

Master’s degree in energy policy, public policy, government, communications, economics, business, or a related field with 2+ years of experience in providing administrative or program support in a professional setting. US Citizenship Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience supporting a federal client, particularly the Department of Energy, FERC, or DHS, or working for an energy company or energy industry association Experience supporting the planning and execution of meetings, workshops, briefings, or convenings—including agenda development, speaker coordination, logistics management, and post‑event follow‑up—preferably in a government or energy sector context. Experience managing projects involving a range of internal and external stakeholders; ability to build relationships, facilitate collaboration, and support international coordination and cooperation. Experience in research, writing, policy, and energy (i.e., infrastructure and markets, including electricity, natural gas, and/or petroleum). Professional Skills: Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Self-motivated, energetic, quick, adaptive learner Ability to develop and cultivate strong customer relationships Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary environment Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI preferred but not required. : Although the posted range below is broader, this position is anticipated to offer a base salary from $79,500 - $100,000.
