General Manager Position at Red Roof Plus Suites

100 room budget/economy pet-friendly hotel featuring EV chargers, kitchenette suites, and an optimal location in busy Downtown Erie PA. Close proximity to the waterfront, Waldameer waterpark, Presque Isle State Park, Peach St. shopping destinations, Erie Zoo, and many more local attractions! Major western PA tourist destination May-Sept. We are looking for a dedicated, reliable General Manager to handle all daily supervision and direction of the team. Lodging package available.

Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site role for a General Manager at Red Roof Plus Suites located in Erie, PA. The General Manager will oversee all daily operations of the property to ensure efficient service delivery, financial performance, and guest satisfaction. Manage and lead all departments, maintain facilities, and uphold brand and operational standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising and directing management and hourly team performance, recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and disciplining staff as needed
• Handling all reviews, questions, emails, and guest resolution issues, overseeing front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and operational workflows
• Processing and approving paperwork, invoices, payroll items, and labor controls to send to ownership and upper management, preparing and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, monitoring revenue performance and expenses
• Managing budgets and cost controls, ordering and overseeing inventories, implementing loss prevention measures
• Ensuring total cleanliness and brand compliance through regular room and public area inspections, overseeing preventive maintenance programs and capital needs
• Ensuring compliance with safety, health, labor, and brand regulations
• Addressing escalated guest concerns, maintaining strong guest relations
• Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and brand partners, executing sales initiatives, and local marketing efforts
• Supporting seasonal staffing needs, maintaining employee morale and engagement, and ensuring smooth overall hotel operations while meeting business objectives.

Qualifications: Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills Operational planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail Experience with budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial analysis Knowledge of hospitality industry standards, brand compliance, and customer service best practices Ability to lead multiple departments and manage performance accountability Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle escalated guest relations effectively Proficiency in using hotel operations management systems, PMS platforms, and reporting tools Bachelor's degree in business administration, hotel management, or a related field is preferred Previous experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in hotel or hospitality management is highly beneficial OPT Graduate students eligible for job position
