Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Geriatric Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, CPI*, ACLS* Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with charting systems is preferred - Travel experience is required Description: A Senior Care/Geropsych Behavioral Health RN is needed. Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week on weekends. Experience with geriatric patients required. Candidates should have experience in managing behavioral health issues. Knowledge of medication administration is essential. Skills in behavior management techniques, de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention are important. Experience with antianxiety, antidepressant, antipsychotic medications is preferred. Must be capable of blood glucose monitoring and cardiac arrest/CPR. Experience with emergency chemical restraints is a plus. Ability to work in a locked unit and utilize physical hold protocols is necessary. Successful candidates will provide care to patients with degenerative disorders and mood disorders. The unit has a patient ratio of 6:1. Candidates will work in a supportive interdisciplinary environment. Experience with medication administration for patients with various psychiatric diagnoses is required. Strong communication skills are essential for interpreting and communicating lab values. This position offers quick employment opportunities with an ASAP start.
