General Duties & Functions

• Troubleshoot and execute repairs of equipment contributing to safety, quality, downtime, and productivity opportunities and issues.
• Communicate findings, identify root causes, and corrective steps to maintenance leadership.
• Develop proactive maintenance plans including, mechanical ultrasound routes, IR routes, Airbourne Ultrasound, Vibration, and Oil Analysis on new and existing assets.
• Log all condition maintenance activities found in CMMS.
• Execute assigned or scheduled work order in CMMS in a safe and timely manner.
• Support innovation related activities.
• Interpret, analyze results, and build action plans for identified issues through PdM technologies, specifically from IR, Oil Analysis, Ultrasound and Vibration.
• Assists Maintenance Technicians with predictive maintenance tasks and training.
• Analyze CMMS data to improve OEE and reduce equipment downtime
• Maintains calibration certificates for all PdM measuring tools.
• Creates reports for all findings including Laser Alignments, Infrared, vibration, ultrasound, and oil analysis.
• Discovers methods of improving efficiency and ensure quality standards, as an individual and part of a team
• Communicates with other shifts, operators, and technicians to give and receive updates on equipment status
• Performs routine diagnostic checks on automated systems and equipment collecting equipment performance data for early diagnosis of potential system and/or equipment malfunction
• Communicates specific nature of equipment repair and recovery, along with causes, to appropriate management and operations personnel 
• Maintains accurate service records so that the performance of equipment can be monitored
• Rebuilds, repairs and reassemble machines and equipment
• Communicates required supply of essential spare parts 
• Engage personal performance to achieve and retain high-performance standards 
• Other duties as assigned  

Skills/Qualifications

• Knowledge of power transmission components-bearings, pulleys/sheaves, shafts/rollers, couplings, sprockets, chains, belts, pumps, motors and gearboxes.
• Must be able to read blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Possesses knowledge of industrial maintenance systems, equipment controls and safety circuits
• Willingness/ability to attend formal training courses to learn current PdM technologies and software
• Must possess good communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, excellent visual skills for accessing functionality of equipment, above basic mathematical skills and reasoning ability
• Knowledge of OSHA Requirements to include Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, confined space and Lockout/Tagout Procedures
• Basic working knowledge of computer software and MS office
• Experience with operating fork lift 
• Ability to operate with speed and accuracy
• Demonstrates team spirit, shows flexibility and positive attitude as an active team contributor
• Demonstrates the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates problem solving skills, is able to recognize and appropriately escalate issues when situations arise
• Ability to successfully complete pre-hire basic skills tests and assessments
• Ability to successfully pass pre-employment background check, physical exam and drug screening
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate’s degree from an accredited community, technical or vocational college preferred
• 1 to 2 years of multi-craft experience in a manufacturing environment 
• Lean / process improvement tools experience and/or interest in advancing knowledge in this area
• Experience with Ultrasound, IR, Oil analysis and precision alignment and/or advancing knowledge in these areas.

• Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated production areas, which may include safety-toe shoes, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, and other PPE as defined by risk assessments and site policies.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
• Ability to frequently move throughout production areas, including ascending and descending stairs, ladders, and work platforms.
• Ability to occasionally kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, reach overhead, and work in confined or awkward positions.
• Ability to frequently use both dominant and non-dominant hands for operating tools, handling materials, manipulating machine controls, and performing technical tasks.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move materials and equipment up to 35 pounds and, less frequently, up to 65 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to occasionally push or pull wheeled carts, equipment, or components requiring moderate force.
• Ability to visually inspect equipment, materials, gauges, and finished products to identify defects, malfunctions, hazards, or deviations, and to recognize safety signals, alarms, and changing conditions in the work environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to effectively receive, understand, and communicate technical instructions, safety information, and operational updates through appropriate means, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

• This position is primarily based in an active manufacturing environment and requires routine presence on the production floor.
• Employees are regularly exposed to noise, vibration, moving machinery, powered industrial vehicles, and other industrial hazards.
• Temperatures may vary seasonally and may range from approximately 65–100&degree;F depending on the area of the facility.
• Raw materials used in the manufacturing process may include oils, carbon black, rubber compounds, sulfur, and other additives. Employees may encounter industrial odors, airborne particulates, or dust consistent with manufacturing operations.
• Work may occasionally involve exposure to elevated work areas, energized equipment, and maintenance activities requiring adherence to safety procedures.
