Shop Manager

Key Responsibilities The Shop Manager will oversee all daily warehouse and shop activities, including receiving shipments, organizing inventory, assembling and testing equipment, and preparing materials for shipping or event deployment. This position is responsible for prepping gear prior to events and checking in returned equipment afterward, ensuring all items are handled properly, inspected for damage, and stored correctly. Any quality concerns, defects, or operational issues must be identified promptly and reported to the owner immediately. This role also includes maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and shop layout to improve efficiency and workflow. Property management responsibilities include outdoor maintenance such as snow removal and lawn care, garbage disposal, and restocking shop and facility supplies as needed. The Shop Manager will conduct regular inventory cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure accuracy and accountability. Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation for incoming and outgoing equipment and materials is essential. In addition, the Shop Manager will supervise, train, and mentor warehouse and shop staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, and adherence to company procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure all equipment is assembled correctly, fully tested, and meets company quality standards before deployment. They will also coordinate shipping, receiving, and delivery schedules with the owner and work closely with commercial drivers, installation teams, and project managers to meet project deadlines and customer delivery expectations. Required Qualifications Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent along with at least 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, shop management, or operations leadership. Experience working with audio equipment, electronics, or technical equipment handling is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and team management abilities with the capability to supervise staff, delegate responsibilities, and maintain a productive work environment. Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer skills is required to accurately track equipment, materials, and shipping documentation. This role requires the ability to lift and move equipment weighing 50 pounds or more and work in a physically active environment that includes standing, walking, bending, and equipment handling throughout the day. Desired Skills The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of solving problems quickly and efficiently. Strong communication skills and the ability to train, mentor, and motivate team members are essential. Experience with shipping and receiving procedures, inventory control, and quality assurance practices is highly valued. Work Environment This position operates primarily in a warehouse and shop setting with moderate noise levels and frequent activity. Daily responsibilities involve standing, walking, lifting, moving equipment, and working with tools and technical gear. Outdoor work may occasionally be required for property maintenance tasks such as snow removal or lawn care.
