Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Any active state RN or compact license accepted Certifications: BLS, NRP, EFM-NCC or AWHONN required Must-Have: BLS certification NRP certification EFM-NCC or AWHONN certification 2 years of experience Description: Position available for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include caring for patients in labor and delivery settings. The schedule is night shifts, working three 12-hour shifts per week. No floating or call requirements are expected. Every other weekend coverage is required. The patient ratios are 1:1 during the day, night, and weekends. The unit handles patients of various age groups, including neonates and adults. Daily census averages 2.5, with yearly deliveries ranging from 700 to 800. The unit is equipped for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Care may involve managing conditions such as hypertension and twin gestation. Experience with specific procedures and equipment is beneficial. Interdisciplinary support includes various therapeutic and support services. Candidates must have experience with required charting systems. A maximum of 10 days off is allowed per contract, with restrictions in initial weeks. Attendance policies are strict, with termination following multiple call-offs. It is expected that RNs have a 366-day separation from previous employment before returning as travelers.
