Caseload: Approximately 62 Students
Contract: Renewal Possible Based on Performance and District Needs
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time, school-based position in Kenosha, WI . This role provides occupational therapy services to students across two elementary schools while collaborating with an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) serving an additional elementary site.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students improve functional skills, classroom participation, and independence while working within a collaborative special education team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations and direct services to elementary-aged students
- Develop and implement therapy goals aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support students with fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-care, and functional skill development
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers
- Supervise and support an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) providing services within the district
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Occupational Therapist License
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Experience supervising or collaborating with COTAs/OTAs is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
