Registered Nurse PICU NICU (Float)

Overview Under the direction of a Nurse Manager, the Internal Resource Pool Registered Nurse floats between at least two departments within two different service lines providing professional skilled age specific nursing care for patients in collaboration with the physician and other disciplines. Performs all aspects of patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, medication administration; identifying nursing problems; plans of care; provides or delegates care according to Valleywise Health policies; functions as a client advocate and educator; completes and processes all required documentation; indirectly supervises ancillary personnel as directed; and participates in team building and quality improvement activities. The position demonstrates the professional skills and behaviors to promote comprehensive, cost effective, and meaningful healthcare for consumers in a diverse healthcare environment. The position may require standby or on-call time. Hourly Pay Rate: $55.00 Qualifications Education: Prefer a Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Nursing. Experience: Prefer at least 2 years of RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and ability. Certification/Licensure: Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license; temporary AZ RN license; or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice. Must also be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing. Requires BLS. A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months. Must have ACLS upon hire. In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice: Ambulatory/Specialty Clinics: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Angio Suite (Interventional Radiology): Must have ACLS at time of hire and PALS within 90 days of hire or transfer. Antepartum Testing Center: Must have an Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification upon hire or transfer. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Burn Center Med Surg Adult: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. You must obtain PALS within six (6) months. Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year. Burn Center Med Surg Peds: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. You must obtain PALS within six (6) months. Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year. Burn Center ICU: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. You must obtain PALS within six (6) months. Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year. Burn Center Emergency: Must have ACLS and PALS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year. Burn Center Clinic: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. You must obtain PALS within six (6) months. Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year. Cardio/Pulmonary Clinic: Must have ACLS within (6) months of hire or transfer. Cath Lab: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Critical Care: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain NIHSS certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Must obtain TNCC, ATCN, or TCAR within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer. Critical Care Certified Nurse (CCRN) preferred. Critical Care Stepdown: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain NIHSS certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer. PCCN preferred. Dialysis Inpatient & Phoenix Campus: Must have a minimum of two (2) years dialysis experience. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. You must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of your hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. ED - Roosevelt: Must have ACLS and PALS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain ATCN or TNCC within twelve (12) months and ENPC within twelve (12) months. Must obtain NIHSS certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Pediatric Certified Emergency Nurse (PCEN), or Trauma Certified Emergency Nurse (TCRN) is preferred. ED - Maryvale: Must have ACLS and PALS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain ATCN or TNCC within twelve (12) months and ENPC within twelve (12) months. Must obtain NIHSS certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Pediatric Certified Emergency Nurse (PCEN), or Trauma Certified Emergency Nurse (TCRN) is preferred. ENDO: Must obtain ACLS and PALS within six (6) months of hire or transfer. SGNA certification is preferred. FQHC Primary Care: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. You must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of your hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. L&D: Must have ACLS and NRP upon hire or within six (6) months of hire or transfer if new grad/new to service. New grad/new to service RN, complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within twelve (12) months of hire. Experienced L&D RN, obtain AWHONN Fetal Monitoring within six (6) months of hire. AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring must be completed after two (2) years of L&D experience. AWHONN Fetal Monitoring will be renewed every two (2) years. IRP: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Additional certifications may be required to work in specialty areas. McDowell Clinic: Must obtain an HIV certification required within thirty (30) months of hire or transfer. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. You must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of your hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. Medical Oncology Ortho: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain an ONS (Chemotherapy Biotherapy Card) within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer. NICU: Must have NRP upon hire or within six (6) months of hire or transfer for new grads/new to service. Nursing Float Pool: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Additional certifications may be required to work in specialty areas. Observation-Roosevelt: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Oncology Clinic: Must obtain an ONS (Chemotherapy Biotherapy Card) within six (6) months of hire or transfer. OR (other than Peoria):CNOR certification is preferred. Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. OR (Peoria):Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. You must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of your hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. CNOR certification is preferred. Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. PEC Dialysis: A minimum of two (2) years dialysis experience is preferred. PreOp/PACU (Peoria): Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. You must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of your hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. PICU: Must have PALS and NRP upon hire or transfer or within six (6) months if new grad/new to service. Must obtain ATCN, TNCC, or PCAR within twelve (12) months. PCAR is preferred. Peds Acute: Must have PALS and NRP upon hire or within six (6) months of hire or transfer for new grad/new to service. Post Partum: Must have ACLS and NRP upon hire or within six (6) months of hire or transfer for new grad/new to service. Surgical Trauma: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to meet the conditions as stated in the employment agreement. Must be able to float to at least two (2) departments within two (2) different service lines for which approved competencies must be demonstrated. Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must. Must have excellent communication, time management and customer service skills. Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g. formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
