We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Career Services Advisor to join our team and work closely with current and graduate students to ensure ACCET placement and graduation rates. Job Summary As a Career Services Advisor at CIAT, you will play a pivotal role in assisting students and alumni in their career development and job search efforts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Career Counseling: Provide one-on-one career advising sessions to students and alumni, helping them identify strengths, interests, and career goals. Offer guidance on resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies. Job Placement Assistance: Collaborate with employers and organizations, locally and nationally, to create job opportunities for our students and alumni. Facilitate career fairs, networking events, and workshops. LinkedIn Profile Reviews: Conduct LinkedIn profile reviews and assist individuals in optimizing their online professional presence. Resource Development: Create and maintain a comprehensive database of job listings, internships, and career resources. Stay updated on industry trends and job market demands. Knowledge of Handshake is a plus. Program Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement career-related programs, workshops, and seminars. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records within Dynamics of career advising sessions, job placements, and other relevant data. Accreditation Expectations: Maintain and analyze student graduation and placement lists. Collect appropriate placement forms to meet ACCET requirements. Professional Development: Stay current on trends in career advising, attend conferences, and participate in ongoing training. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Support academic, student services, and admissions staff to provide preparatory, transitional, and college and career readiness advising. Adhere to CIAT’s compliance requirements to ensure all federal, state, accreditation, and institutional policies are met. Follow communication guidelines to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and professionalism. Embody CIAT’s mission, vision, purpose, and values. Requirements 2+ years experience in career counseling, advising, placement, or related fields. Knowledge of career development theories, assessment tools, and vocational school placement expectations. Familiarity with resume writing, interview coaching, and job search strategies. Proficiency in using career services software and online job platforms. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in career advising. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Positive and friendly attitude. Skillful in Microsoft Office, email, internet, and other computer-related areas. Detail‑oriented with outstanding research and analytical skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Process tasks in a timely manner. Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information following confidentiality guidelines. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, academic departments, and administration to support student success. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Team player with a can‑do attitude. Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing environment. Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours to accommodate business needs and deadlines. Flexible to work longer hours to meet deadlines, if needed. Able to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality. Possess high ethical standards, being an example of professionalism. Must embody CIAT’s mission, vision, purpose, and values. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Physical Demands Essential functions require sitting for extended periods. Requires typing, use of a computer, and telephone usage. Frequently use computer, mouse, and telephone for regular tasks. Required to compute simple mathematical calculations. Requires daily use of a company computer and related software. Requires travel as needed. Salary Range The starting salary for the Career Services Advisor position is $28.00–$31.00 hourly/DOE.
