This travel X-Ray Tech job in Albany, NY with Advantis Medical is a 12-week travel X-Ray Tech contract at Albany Medical Center. This role pays $2,396 per week and follows a Nights shift with a 3x12 schedule. In this travel X-Ray Tech job, you will support patient care through specialty-specific clinical services, perform assessments and treatments within your scope of practice, document patient progress, operate relevant medical equipment, and collaborate with physicians and the broader care team to help deliver quality patient outcomes.

Albany Medical Center is Northeastern New York's only academic medical center and Level I trauma center, a 766-bed tertiary hospital and the anchor of the Albany Med Health System, serving roughly three million people across a 25-county region.

The radiology department performs nearly 200,000 exams a year, running a GE Revolution CT for one-beat cardiac imaging, eight MRI magnets (two of them 3T for cardiac, breast, fetal, prostate, and advanced neuro work), and a full interventional radiology service. An ACS-verified Level I adult and pediatric Trauma Center, with an ED seeing more than 75,000 visits a year, keeps trauma imaging heavy. Respiratory therapists support a high-volume ECMO program, alongside hybrid open and endovascular cardiac and vascular ORs. Cardiac catheterization covers adult diagnostic, EP, and PCI work, backed by adult cardiac surgery and a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with a dedicated Neuro ICU. A Level IV NICU and the Regional Perinatal Center, plus the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital, anchor the neonatal and pediatric imaging work; Epic is the EMR.

Responsibilities

• Perform ordered diagnostic X-ray exams across the assigned caseload
• Position patients and operate radiographic equipment, adjusting technique and collimation for each study
• Apply radiation-safety practices, including exposure optimization and ALARA principles
• Critique images for positioning and exposure quality, minimizing repeat exposures, and provide completed studies to radiologists

Travel X-Ray Tech Requirements:

• 2+ years of recent X-Ray Tech experience.
• Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by New York and national regulatory bodies.
