This position demands strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of mission-critical infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesProject Oversight: Manage all aspects of construction from site preparation through commissioning for large-scale data center projects.Vendor Management: Oversee general contractors, subcontractors, and third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and quality standards.Schedule and Budget Management: Monitor construction schedules and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders and taking corrective action as needed.Quality Assurance: Ensure all construction work complies with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage potential risks, safety issues, and design conflicts; implement mitigation strategies promptly.Client Interaction: Act as a point of contact for clients on construction-related matters, fostering a professional relationship through clear communication and problem-solving.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, punch lists, daily reports, and project closeout materials.Commissioning Support: Work with commissioning agents and Vertiv engineering teams to ensure systems are fully tested and operational before handover.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).7+ years of construction management experience, with at least 3 years focused on mission-critical or data center projects.Strong understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems and civil/structural construction.Proven ability to manage large-scale construction projects with values exceeding $5M.Excellent knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, CX Alloy, Primavera, MS Project).Willingness to travel extensively within the U.S. and remain on-site for extended durations.Preferred QualificationsPMP, CCM, or equivalent construction/project management certifications.Experience with prefabrication, modular builds, or fast-track construction methodologies.Previous experience working for or with Vertiv or similar data center infrastructure providers.Time Travel Required80% travelCore Principles & BehaviorsOur core principles: Safety, Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, Diversity & Inclusion.Strategic priorities: Customer Focus, Operational Excellence, High-Performance Culture, Innovation, Financial Strength.Behaviors: Own It, Act With Urgency, Foster a Customer-First Mindset, Think Big and Execute, Lead by Example, Drive Continuous Improvement, Learn and Seek Out Development.Company OverviewAt Vertiv, we're on a mission to empower the people that will power the future.
