Human Resources Generalist II(12) Months/260 Days$60,000-68,000This is an in-person position in Marlborough, MassachusettsJob SummaryProvide Human Resources support in a school district with 800+ employees. Perform administrative work of a complex nature, general office functions and related work as required. Acts in a confidential capacity to the Human Resources Director with regard to employee relations, labor negotiations and other management and administrative activities. Works cooperatively with other school district personnel.Organizational Reporting StructureReports to the Director of Human ResourcesDuties and Responsibilities:Serve as a member of an HR team for a school district with 800+ employees working with employees and job applicantsProcess employment status changes.Generate employment verification lettersProcess new hire paperwork and conduct new hire benefit information orientationProcess benefit enrollments and changes.Enter information in HRIS database (ASPEN) and run reports as necessaryPost job openings and respond to questionsTrack certification for licensed educatorsMaintain electronic personnel filesProcess leaves including, but not limited to, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)Processing of educational lane changesSupport paperwork process for retiree paperworkProvide new hires with information to participate in the district mentoring and induction programProcess and send annual letters of reassurance to 10-month employeesAssist with the preparation of the Annual Service Awards ListCoordinate and administer Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and the fingerprint processTake photos for ID badgesAssist employees with requests to review personnel filesAssist the Director of HR in development of HR employee relations and labor negotiation materials for collective bargainingRecruit substitutes, screen applicants. Conduct interviews and check references as necessary.Recruit candidates at school and community events, job fairs and through social media and electronic posting boards.Research and follow up on new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.Develop and maintain relationships with college and university offices as a source to generate additional qualified applicants.Form connections with local and surrounding community resources that will strengthen recruitment.Represent the Marlborough Public Schools, accurately, dynamically and professionally.Partner with teacher prep programs, encourage paths to licensure and support building an education pipeline of qualified candidates in difficult to fill roles for future job openings.Performs such other duties as may be assignedKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Understanding of operating practices in a human resources office.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Good customer service skills in dealing with the public and employees.Must be able perform work quickly, efficiently and accurately.Excellent communication skills.Good knowledge of office practices, procedures and office equipment.Strong skills in oral and written communication.Must be a strong team player, able to collaborate well with others.Strong computer competence including but not limited to, abilities with standard office software (ex.
