Center Director

Company Description Care-a-lot Child Care provides children in the greater Rochester, NY area with a fun, safe environment to learn and grow, serving families across six locations in Greece, Henrietta, Pittsford, Fairport, and Farmington, including the recently acquired Bates-Rich Beginnings in Fairport. Role Description The Center Director is a full‑time, on‑site role based in New York, United States, responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of a Care-a-lot childcare center. This role oversees staff scheduling, performance, and professional development, ensuring that all team members follow health, safety, and licensing regulations. The Center Director manages enrollment processes, parent communications, and family engagement activities, maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with caregivers and guardians. Daily responsibilities include monitoring classroom environments, supporting curriculum implementation, managing budgets and resources, and addressing operational issues to ensure a high-quality, nurturing experience for children. The Center Director also collaborates with organizational leadership on program improvements and center-level initiatives. Qualifications Experience in early childhood or childcare center management, including staff supervision, scheduling, and performance feedback. Skills in family and community engagement, such as clear communication with parents/guardians, conflict resolution, and relationship-building. Knowledge of childcare licensing standards, health and safety regulations, and compliance procedures within New York State. Strong organizational and administrative skills, including budgeting, record-keeping, and managing enrollment and waitlists. Ability to support age-appropriate curriculum, learning activities, and positive classroom environments for infants through school-age children. Proficient in using basic office software and center management systems for scheduling, documentation, and communication. Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced childcare or educational setting. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Relevant state-required certifications or credentials (such as CPR/First Aid and mandated reporter training), or willingness to obtain them.
