The Clerk greets customers at the service center, supports their service and repair needs, and ensures accurate and timely processing of orders and inventory. This role combines front-line customer interaction with data entry, basic quoting, and coordination of parts and shipments in a production-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers to the service center and provide a friendly, professional first point of contact.
• Discuss service needs and equipment repair requirements with customers to understand their requests and gather accurate information.
• Prepare and present repair quotes to customers in a clear and transparent manner.
• Enter orders and service details into the company database with a high level of accuracy.
• Use Microsoft programs to support daily administrative tasks, documentation, and communication.
• Sort parts for shipment, ensuring correct labeling, packaging, and routing.
• Assist with inventory control by organizing parts, monitoring stock levels, and reporting discrepancies.
• Transfer incoming phone calls to appropriate managers or team members promptly and courteously.
• Collaborate with service and production teams to ensure customer orders and repairs are processed efficiently.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area that supports productivity and safety in a production-based environment.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of customer-focused service experience.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft programs (such as Word, Excel, and Outlook) for daily tasks.
• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Basic understanding of inventory processes and order handling.
• Ability to work in a production-based environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Comfort with handling phone calls and directing them to the appropriate contacts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with inventory management or inventory control processes.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints or technical documents related to machinery and equipment.
• Exposure to machinery maintenance or service environments.
• Ability to learn company-specific databases and systems quickly.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to sort and manage parts for shipment efficiently.

Work Environment

This position operates in a production-based service center environment with standard hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Any overtime occurs after the regular shift and is optional. The work involves both customer-facing activities and hands-on tasks with parts and inventory. The typical attire is casual, such as jeans and a T-shirt, with steel-toe footwear required for safety. Employees work with company databases and Microsoft programs while interacting with service and production teams in a fast-paced, yet supportive setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gillette, WY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
