CT Technologist

About this Job MedStar Health is looking for a part‑time CT (Computed Tomography) Technologist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Schedule Every Saturday and Sunday 7:00 pm - 7:30 am. Primary Duties Operate diagnostic equipment to produce CT images of internal organs for professional personnel. Explain the process to patients, interview for medical history, and instruct and assist patients in assuming proper scan positions. Administer contrast media (IV, oral, rectal, PO) according to protocols. Prepare patients for scan, review patient records, allergies, lab work, and exam orders; position patients on the scan table. Establish IV site for contrast infusion and monitor patients for adverse reactions. Enter patient and exam data into the radiology computer system; prepare and maintain records of service, verify billing and quality assurance. Complete incident reports and anesthesia records when necessary; report all technical problems to the supervisor or senior technologist. Assist Radiologist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages and inform the Radiologist of scan results when anomalies are visible. Schedule patient exams and revise daily schedules for emergency exams from MedStar, ER, and other units. Clean and maintain an aseptic working environment; film CT images and archive exams onto tape or optical disk. Ensure adequate supplies are available and replenish supply levels. Assist in training and orientation of new employees and students. Qualifications Associate degree or one to three years formal training in Radiologic Technology. Completed competency‑based training in CT. 1-2 years job‑related experience. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) registration. Basic Life Support (BLS).
