Posting Title: Postdoctoral Researcher – Biochemist/Biophysicist Location: Golden, Colorado Position Type: Fixed‑term Postdoctoral Researcher (Full‑time 40 hrs/week) Overview The National Laboratory of the Rockies Biosciences Center seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Researcher in the Physical Biochemistry and Photosynthesis Group to conduct basic research on the electron transfer and biophysical mechanisms of flavin‑based electron‑bifurcating enzymes. Responsibilities Apply spectroscopic techniques (UV/Vis steady state and transient absorption, electron paramagnetic resonance, fluorescence) to investigate protein redox cofactors. Use electrochemical methods (protein film voltammetry, spectroelectrochemistry) and biochemical assays to study enzyme mechanisms. Prepare manuscripts and reports on research progress. Present results at national meetings. Mentor junior researchers and assist the project PI with project planning. Collaborate with internal and external research groups. Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, or related discipline earned within the last three years. Hands‑on experience with expression and purification of recombinant proteins. Experience in biochemical or biophysical investigation of redox‑active enzymes. Strong oral and written communication skills; a history of relevant publications. Ability to work safely and independently in a laboratory setting. Preferred Qualifications Graduate research in flavoenzymes, metalloenzymes, enzyme kinetics, protein–protein or protein–substrate interactions, transient absorption spectroscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance, or protein electrochemistry.
