Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem

In any patient care setting, the Respiratory Therapist will implement and update care plans, perform cardiopulmonary evaluation, administer respiratory therapy treatment techniques, and provide education to the patient, family, other team members, students, and the public.

Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating patient data, advising providers on respiratory care procedures, selecting and checking respiratory care equipment, recommending and documenting therapeutic procedures, monitoring clinical parameters, modifying treatment techniques based on patient response, providing patient education, initiating and updating respiratory care plans, collaborating with the health care team, maintaining ACLS certification, communicating patient status, participating in the instruction and orientation of team members and students, and performing other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications include an associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate, New York State Respiratory Therapist (RT) license with current registration, including credentials received prior to 9/1993, or New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician (RTT) license AND National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) active credentials as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), and ACLS certification (current) required within one year of hire.

Education: AS: Respiratory Therapy (Required)

Licenses / Certifications: RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), RT - Respiratory Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Physical requirements include medium work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

Pay range: $44.50 - $44.50
