Job Summary:

The Universal Banker will assist the branch team in serving clients by completing account transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, opening new accounts, servicing existing accounts, resolving issues and answering questions about products and services, as well as and other financial interactions while building relationships and providing excellent client service. The Universal Banker’s role is vital in supporting the Branch Banking Specialists and production staff by assisting with the opening of new deposit accounts, while also covering essential Teller duties, as necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Assist Branch Banking Specialists, as needed, in matters relating to creating new client profiles and the opening and servicing of client accounts.

· Perform routine bank teller tasks, as follows:

• • • including opening new accounts, updating contact information, making deposits, withdrawals, transfers, receiving loan payments, and cashing checks, confirming accuracy of transactions.

• • • Daily operation and management of the Teller Cash Recycler (TCR) machine.

• • • Maintain and balance the drawer on a daily basis by accounting for cash assigned, received, and disbursed.

• • • Maintaining accurate records of account activity and transactions to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

·  Answering the telephone and providing excellent client service to all callers.

· Comply with internal / external bank procedures and regulations.

· Promote strong customer and client interactions, build relationships and offer new products and features when warranted.

· Demonstrate good risk management decisions, including displaying solid knowledge of guidelines for fraud prevention and robbery. Evaluate checks to verify endorsements, dates, identification of persons receiving payments, bank names and overall legality of the documents.

· Maintain a work area that ensures the safety of all negotiables and confidential records.

· May assist Treasury Management with routine duties associated with remote and mobile deposits, online technical support, and other duties as may be needed.

· May assist Human Resources Department regarding ordering and inventory of bank supplies.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal communication skills.

· Excellent math skills and meticulous attention to detail while seeking to identify and correct

potential banking errors.

· Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity.

· Thorough understanding of customer / client service.

· Ability to use time and resources efficiently in order to accomplish tasks.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent is required.

· Previous experience with cash handling, customer service, and/or sales experience preferred.
