Job DescriptionWhat's In It For You:Bonus:$750 sign-on bonus for Certified Nursing Assistants Must maintain at least 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week)Paid Training & Certification:CNA course provided at no cost (training fees covered, but training is unpaid)Cares Dementia Certification paid training providedCommunity-Based Residential Facility (CBRF) Certification paid training providedExtra Cash:Earn shift differentials from $0.50 to $3.00 per hour depending on shiftEarn additional pay incentives up to $5.00 per hour for picking up additional, non-scheduled shiftsPosition Summary:This position provides basic care for residents/tenants to assure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times within a safe environment; assists with activities of daily living, offers emotional and social support, and attends residents/tenants' overall physical comfort. This position is available for Full-Time, Part-Time, or On-Call.Essential Functions:Provides personal hygiene including bathing (tub, shower, bed bath), oral care, skin and nail care and hand washing.Completes resident grooming including hair care, shaving, dressing and weighing. Encourages residents/tenants toward independent personal care.Assists with toileting including bowel and bladder retraining and perinea care.Performs and assists with mobility, transferring, ambulation, positioning and range of motion per the care plan.Assists in orienting residents/tenants upon admission and throughout stay as needed.Documents accurately all care given, including dietary intake and output, temperature, weight, blood pressure pulse and respiration, using approved abbreviations and descriptive terms.Reports to nurse on units for written and verbal assignments which include daily use of care plans for assigned residents/tenants before initiating care.Participates in the planning of resident care through shift reports and resident care staffing meetings when assigned.Informs verbally and/or submit in writing any observations and changes in a resident for the licensed nurse to evaluate including dietary intake.Serves residents/tenants their meals; motivates and assists them with intake of nourishment and fluids.Answer all call signals and requests of residents/tenants immediately.Encourages/assist residents/tenants in keeping their rooms clean and orderly; assists with making beds.Maintains nursing unit in a clean and orderly manner.Keeps all residents/tenants' personal belongings and equipment clean.Escorts residents/tenants to appointments and/or therapy departments as scheduled.Participates in unit activity programs planned for residents/tenants as needed.Attends and participates in unit nursing staff meetings and mandatory in-services.Performs a total inventory of all resident's possessions on admission, discharge or transfer.Ensures all residents/tenants' possessions are properly labeled.Responds to resident emergency including bleeding, falls, seizures and performance of Heimlich maneuver.Assists with post-mortem care as assigned.Transports dietary carts and linen carts.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of PPE and its proper use for personal safety measures.Ability to maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and assure resident rights and privacy are protected at all times per HIPAA.Ability to create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest as well as a clean environment.Ability to work tactfully and cooperatively with residents/tenants, families, visitors and entire staff throughout the organization.General knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, equipment and office assistance techniques.General knowledge of County and department programs and policies.Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and concise records and reports.Ability to work the allocated hours of the position.Language Skills:Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency in workplace English and spelling.Mathematical Skills:Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.Reasoning Ability:Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.Ability to develop, interpret and implement local policies and procedures, written instructions, general correspondence, and Federal, State, and local regulations.Ability to define problems and deal with a variety of situations.Ability to think quickly, maintain self-control, and adapt to stressful situations.Organizational and time management skills needed to meet deadlines.Must have ability to work accurately with attention to detail.Ability to analyze facts and to exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions.Physical and Work Environment:This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 75 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and reaching with hands and arms.Work has standard vision requirements.Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities.Work requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious waste, disease, and medical conditions and may require specialized personal protective equipment.Vaccinations and testing as required by local, state, or federal regulations and/or other regulating entities.Work Environment:Work is primarily in a health care setting.Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements:Certified Nursing AssistantAge 16 or older.Wisconsin certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and on state registry.Must successfully pass criminal and caregiver background check.Certified Nursing Assistant – Dementia CareAge 16 or older.Wisconsin certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and on state registry.Completion of CBRF training, fire safety, first aide, and medication management program.Cares Dementia Training Certification.Must successfully pass criminal and caregiver background check.Expected Wage Range:CNA: $19.83 - $22.43/hourDementia CNA: $20.83 - $23.56/hourDepartment: Health Care CampusFTE: Various (Full-Time, Part-Time, or On-Call)
