Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ER - Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00); Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum two years License: Active New York RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: EPIC charting experience Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatrics for our Emergency Department. The role involves managing critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have experience in IV therapy including blood product administration and central line care. Responsibilities include triage, emergency care, and stabilization of pediatric patients. Nurses will be expected to float to inpatient pediatric floors as needed. Knowledge of pediatric patient diagnoses such as asthma, trauma, and fractures is essential. Staff will participate in moderate sedations and utilize special equipment like nebulizers and vein finders. Ratios are typically 1:3, with a maximum of 1:5 patient experience required. Nurses will work closely with interdisciplinary support teams for comprehensive patient care. Availability for holidays and weekend shifts is required. Preferred experience includes charge nurse responsibilities and trauma unit experience. This position accepts first-time travelers.
