General Laborers

Surestaff is immediately hiring General Laborers for a large, well-known client in DeKalb, IL. The General Laborer will work in a fast-paced distribution environment and be involved in all aspects of warehouse operations, including Shipping & Receiving, Quality Assurance, and Inventory Control. Surestaff is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation of $15.75-$16.00/hr, as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire.

Available shifts include:

• 1st Shift: 4:00am-2:00pm
• 2nd Shift: 2:00pm-12:00am

Responsibilities of the General Laborer:

• Pick, pull, and prepare orders while maintaining an organized shipping and receiving area
• Process inbound and outbound shipments
• Load and unload pallets
• Scan items into inventory control systems using RF scanners
• Safely and efficiently use warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, hydraulic jacks, RF scanners, computers, and handheld printers
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties and report any unsafe work area conditions
• Assist with quality assurance and inventory control processes
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and warehouse protocols
• High attention to detail and safety/compliance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Ability to use RF scanners and other warehouse technology preferred

Required Qualifications of the General Laborer:

• Previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred
• Demonstrate good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods
