Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care throughout treatment and recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, medications, and IV therapies following approved protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatments, documenting findings accurately.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and post-discharge care.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to develop and adjust care plans as needed.
• Maintain strict compliance with safety standards, infection control, and hospital policies.
• Support patients emotionally and provide compassionate care during stressful treatment phases.

Qualifications:

• License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina or appropriate state licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in oncology or medical-surgical units.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Chemo Certification preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and knowledge of oncology procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to a dynamic environment.
