Sr Indirect Tax Analyst - Houston, TX

Our Indirect Tax team is recruiting a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to concentrate on tax research, planning, and strategic compliance management, providing essential support to leadership in decision-making. *(This position will office in Houston, TX and report to a Supervisor in Oklahoma City.)* Job Functions Lead the preparation and filing of complex multi-state indirect tax returns. Conduct in-depth reconciliations and investigate tax discrepancies. Serve as a technical expert on indirect tax matters. Provide transactional tax planning to minimize tax liabilities. Monitor and communicate legislative changes impacting tax compliance. Lead tax research initiatives and maintain internal tax guides. Oversee audits and manage relationships with tax authorities. Develop and implement tax process improvements and automation strategies. Partner with leadership to support business growth and expansion initiatives. Mentor and train tax analysts at all levels. Experience and Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. CPA, JD, CMI, MBA a plus. 3+ years of related experience. Skills Hard Skills: Deep expertise in tax regulations and compliance strategies; Expertise in tax compliance software (Avalara, Vertex, SRA, SAP). Soft Skills: Strong leadership and ability to influence decision-making; Excellent communication and relationship management skills. Typical Physical Demands Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
