Principal Network Automation Engineer

Leading the development of software-driven solutions for optimizing wireline fiber and IP networks, the full-time remote Principal Network Automation Engineer will design, implement, and manage automation strategies while mentoring team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities: Develop and implement custom automation solutions for provisioning, monitoring, and configuring multi-vendor network environments Partner with operations and field teams to translate complex network requirements into scalable software solutions Provide mentorship and training to the Network Automation Team, ensuring effective adoption of automation capabilities Required qualifications: High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field preferred Minimum of seven years of experience in software development, specifically in access networks Experience developing and implementing network automation strategies At least five years of experience with Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Linux, and related tools in a Network Automation environment Advanced Python programming skills and familiarity with additional programming languages such as Java or Go
