We're looking for a detail-oriented GAAP Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and enjoys partnering with operations, project managers, and leadership to ensure financial accuracy and accountability. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys both traditional financial reporting and the unique challenges of construction and project accounting. You'll play a critical role in maintaining GAAP compliance, supporting financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring project documentation is complete and accurate. Partner Across the Business Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Purchasing, Operations, Leadership, vendors, and subcontractors to drive accountability and improve financial processes. This isn't a behind-the-scenes accounting role. You'll be actively involved in project support, compliance management, financial analysis, and process improvement. What You'll Do Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Review transactions for compliance with GAAP and company policies Support internal and external audit requests and documentation requirements Assist with job-cost reporting and project financial analysis Review and maintain subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and change orders Monitor project accounting activities and contractual compliance Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Verify documentation requirements prior to payment processing Compliance & Internal Controls Maintain project compliance documentation, including lien waivers, vendor records, and executed agreements Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls Ensure company accounting procedures are consistently followed Maintain organized records to support audits and operational needs Business Partnership Work closely with project managers, operations leaders, vendors, and subcontractors Follow up on missing documentation and compliance items Communicate financial requirements clearly and professionally Help protect the company's financial interests through disciplined process management The Ideal Candidate You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
