Food Server Substitute

Winthrop Harbor School District is looking for a Food Server Substitute at Westfield Elementary. This position reports to the Building Principal/District Personnel. The role involves heating and serving meals to students, charging lunch fees, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.

Qualifications: Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent.

Essential Performance Responsibilities include:

• Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
• Warm meals to required temperature
• Monitor and scan student lunch cards during all lunch periods
• Keep all records of free and reduced students current and confidential
• Ensure all students take a reimbursable lunch with all components as defined by the National School Lunch Program
• Collect, record, and balance student lunch accounts
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen area
• Communicate respectfully to parents, students, and staff while working effectively as a member of a team
• Other duties as assigned by the building principal or district personnel

Physical Demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and working in hot and cold kitchen conditions.

Terms of Employment: Employee works 6 hours per day (7:00am to 1:00pm) on days when a substitute is needed. Hourly wage is per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. For the 2026-2027 school year, $24.00 per hour.
