Job Title: Lead Field Service Technician

\n

Location: This position requires 90% travel

\n

Department: Field Services

\n

Reports To: Field Services Manager

\n

\n

Position Summary:

\n

Virginia Transformer is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Services Technician to join our team. The Field Services Technician will be responsible for performing on-site service activities, diagnosing technical issues, and ensuring high-quality results. This position plays a vital role in delivering exceptional field services through hands-on technical expertise and excellent customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

· On-Site Service: Perform field service activities, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment.

\n

· Technical Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site, coordinating with internal teams as necessary to implement effective solutions.

\n

· Customer Interaction: Serve as the on-site contact for customers, providing clear communication regarding work progress, issues, and outcomes.

\n

· Documentation: Prepare detailed reports of on-site work, including diagnostics, resolutions, and recommendations for follow-up actions.

\n

· Equipment Management: Ensure all necessary tools, parts, and equipment are available and in good condition for on-site work.

\n

· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing field service activities.

\n

Qualifications:

\n

· Education: Associate degree in a technical field or related area is preferred.

\n

· Experience: Prior experience as a field service technician, ideally within the transformer or electrical industry.

\n

· Technical Skills:

\n

o Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.

\n

o Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

\n

· Soft Skills:

\n

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.

\n

o Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.

\n

o Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems efficiently.

\n

· Interpersonal Skills:

\n

o Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

\n

o Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and resolving issues diplomatically.

\n

· Certifications: Relevant technical certifications (e.g., electrical systems, safety) are a plus
