Temporary Athletics Event Staff

Position Overview We are seeking temporary, as‑needed event staff members to assist with UNCW home athletic events. The assignment is typically on evenings and weekends, and employees are not considered permanent state employees (they do not accrue leave). Temporary employees are subject to Affordable Care Act guidelines. Responsibilities Shot clock operator PA announcer Music coordination Scoreboard operator Play‑by‑play announcer Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency. Highly dependable, flexible, and available for evenings and weekends. Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to interact professionally with the public. Strong problem‑solving skills. Ability to stand for extended periods both indoors and outdoors. Effective team player. Preferred Qualifications Previous event staffing experience. Schedule and Compensation Pay range: $15–$25 per hour. Hours are intermittent, occasional, and typically on weekends or evenings. Additional Information Work days vary by event. Must be able to stand for extended periods indoors and outdoors. Must be available for evenings and weekends. Must have strong customer service and communication skills.
