Maintenance Lead

Job Summary The Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing and supervising plant maintenance of rendering process equipment; ensures that equipment and buildings are sanitary and in good repair with a direct report to the Plant Manager. 5am‑3:30pm Tuesday‑Saturday. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment. Changes electrical breakers and starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters. Follows preventative maintenance schedule on all plant equipment. Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and daily activities. Trains Level 1 and Level 2 Maintenance personnel. Ensures all Company safety procedures and safe operating standards are followed in accordance with OSHA. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and conducts scheduled safety inspections. Manages daily inventory of supplies and parts, ordering replacements in a timely fashion. Attends scheduled safety meetings and may serve on the Safety Committee. Performs additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience overseeing plant personnel in an industrial setting. Proficiency in basic welding and fabrication skills. Demonstrated proficiency with industrial equipment maintenance and/or vocational training. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures. Prior rendering experience preferred. Advanced welding experience/skills preferred. Vocational school training preferred. Good communication skills both oral and written. Excellent problem‑solving skills. Team player; works well with others. Detail oriented; well organized. Good math skills.
