Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology

Labcorp is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for its Microbiology department in Florence, South Carolina. The role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring quality control in a high-volume diagnostic laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimen acceptability and perform routine and complex technical testing procedures
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls; document quality control procedures
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving; report timely, accurate results
• Maintain safe work environment, manage bench supplies, and assist with specimen processing

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Science, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• Minimum one year clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
• Ability to pass color blindness test and handle physical job demands
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
