Job Description

The Echocardiogram Technologist will perform diagnostic echocardiograms on both adult and pediatric patients in a high-volume hospital setting. This role requires proficiency in 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams. The candidate will coordinate with various hospital departments to schedule exams, transport patients, and ensure accurate billing information is entered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technically proficient echocardiographic exams.
• Assist cardiologists by preparing and measuring M-modes and providing pertinent information during dictation.
• Respond to patient needs during exams and report changes in patient conditions to the physician or nurse in charge.
• Order echo supplies and maintain cleanliness and organization of the echo rooms.
• Participate in quality control and performance improvement activities.
• Share responsibility for on-call coverage for echo emergency exams as per departmental policy.

Required Experience

Minimum of two years of experience performing echocardiograms is preferred.

Certifications / Licensure

• A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or equivalent national accreditation.
• State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
