Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct occupational therapy rehabilitation care to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). Qualifications NBCOT certification (renewal optional), graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program, and active licensure in the applicable state. Preferred experience includes at least one year in post-acute care. CPR certification is required and must be maintained. Key Responsibilities implementing treatment plans, documenting progress accurately, utilizing therapy software, and collaborating with patients, families, and team members. The role requires maintaining confidentiality, adhering to policies, demonstrating professionalism, and providing excellent customer service. Skills & Abilities proficiency in Microsoft Office, good body mechanics, independent decision-making, knowledge of regulations, and strong communication skills. The role also involves physical activities such as sitting, standing, lifting, and mobility during work. Additional duties participating in community health projects, assisting in patient evacuation, and maintaining a dependable attendance record.
