Cost Accountant

Overview Red Valve, a DeZURIK brand, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our growing manufacturing operation in Gastonia, North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with plant leadership, gain deep operational insight, and make a direct impact on business performance through accurate costing, inventory management, and financial analysis. This is an onsite position working four 10-hour days per week , providing a unique schedule while remaining closely connected to plant operations and the teams you support. Responsibilities Maintain standard costs, inventory accuracy, and manufacturing financial data. Execute cost rolls, review Bills of Material, support cycle counts, reconcile inventory balances, and participate in month-end close activities (journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations). Analyze manufacturing variances, identify trends, and partner with Operations, Purchasing, and Engineering to drive corrective actions and cost improvement initiatives. Review cycle count results, support a Gemba walk, analyze cost drivers, respond to operational questions, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve plant performance. Support budgeting and forecasting activities as production volumes grow and help the organization navigate growth opportunities. Qualifications Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP or MRP systems. Solid understanding of accounting principles. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Desire to learn and grow within the organization. Benefits & Compensation DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $66,296 to $82,870 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
