Position: IT Help Desk

Reason for Opening:  Volume support - IT Generalist who manages this work is taking on additional responsibilities and needs someone supporting the basics to absorb routine helpdesk and admin workload.

Schedule:  Hybrid - 9-5/M-F,  In-Office Tuesdays and Thursdays,  Remote  Mon/Wed/Fri. 

Location: 200 E Randolph St Ste 6900, Chicago, IL 60601

Duration: Through November 2026, potential for extension/ conversion. 

Visa Restrictions:  Candidate must be eligible for conversion. 

Interview Process: (one step)  Virtual with HM, move to offer.

Qualification Call Notes:

American Planning Association(APA);  Association for Urban Planners. 

IT generalist is the hiring manager.  They recently took on additional responsibilities, needs someone to help manage the tickets (Jira), working out of SharePoint; training is provided.  Going through the end of November and there is a chance for Logan to be promoted.  If this person is doing well, they can be extended and transitioned into IT Generalist. 

HM is open to consider  Entry Level/ Internship experience. 

The role is 35 hours a week.

Job Description:

APA is seeking a temporary IT Help Desk Associate with 1-2 years of experience in a similar role to serve as a first point of contact for end-user support, handling day-to-day technical issues in a hands-on, entry-level role. Responsibilities include triaging and resolving help desk requests, provisioning and troubleshooting devices, assisting with Active Directory/Exchange account and distribution list tasks, supporting SharePoint site and document needs, and providing conference room A/V support for meetings.

• 1-2 Years of experience with help desk tasks
• Light hands-on experience with Active Directory, Exchange Online, and SharePoint
• Comfortable troubleshooting A/V equipment in conference room settings
• 1-2 years of experience with any IT ticketing system

Questions Recruiter May Receive:

• Ticket Volume: On average, we triage 10-20 new requests per day over Teams, Email, and our  Ticketing System (Jira).
• We have a Hybrid Azure  Active Directory (this experience is a plus) Environment.
• Weekly meetings, twice a week – updating workloads, etc.  handling the volume keeping the day to day afloat. 
• We have no expectations of after-hours or weekend support.  35 hours.  
• In-Office presence is required on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 AM to 5 PM
• Remote support is required Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays 9 AM to 5 PM
