In this role, you will execute assigned tasks with accuracy and timeliness as an individual contributor while collaborating effectively within a low volume, high precision manufacturing environment. You will work closely with engineering teams to support the fabrication and integration of optical, mechanical, composite, and electronic components. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail in hardware handling and traceability, and hands on experience in similar technical roles. Strong problem solving abilities, effective communication, and teamwork skills are essential. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to advanced technology development and precision manufacturing within L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems.Essential Functions:Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environmentRead engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructionsMaintain accurate records and manufacturing documentationAbility to work with fragile and precise assembliesAssist with identifying problems and suggesting solutionsAdhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practicesWork with a variety of hand tools and specialized equipmentMust be proficient with measuring tools (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.)Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travelQualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; Or, 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experiencePreferred Additional Skills:Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical disciplineAerospace or Defense industry experienceExperience with CMM and/or Laser Tracker measurement toolsExperience with shop equipment including but not limited to Mills, Lathes, Grinders, and precision measuring equipmentLean Manufacturing practicesIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $45,000-$84,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
