Senior Electrical Engineer – Avionics Systems We are working with an exciting Space client and they ate looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to take ownership of spacecraft avionics development across the full mission lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver highly reliable spacecraft for demanding missions. Key Responsibilities: Lead spacecraft avionics subsystem development from early architecture definition through integration, test and flight readiness activities. Derive avionics subsystem requirements from mission and spacecraft-level requirements while maintaining full traceability throughout development. Define and manage electrical interfaces across avionics, power, propulsion, communications, flight software, GNC and payload subsystems. Author and maintain electrical interface documentation and coordinate interface development across multiple engineering disciplines. Support avionics hardware architecture trade studies, component selection and procurement activities. Drive resolution of technical integration issues across subsystem boundaries while ensuring overall vehicle compatibility. Develop integration and test plans supporting subsystem validation, vehicle integration and environmental testing campaigns. Support spacecraft assembly, integration, environmental testing and launch preparation activities. Participate in major engineering reviews and contribute to overall spacecraft development strategy. Support troubleshooting, anomaly investigation and root-cause analysis activities during integration and testing. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience developing and integrating spacecraft avionics systems. Experience defining electrical architectures, requirements and subsystem interfaces for spacecraft or similarly complex aerospace systems. Strong understanding of spacecraft electrical interfaces and subsystem interactions. Experience with communication protocols such as RS-422/485, LVDS, SpaceWire, Ethernet and discrete I/O. Proven experience supporting integration, test and debugging activities. Experience working across propulsion, communications, power, GNC or payload subsystems. Spacecraft assembly, integration and test (AI&T) experience. Environmental testing experience including vibration, thermal vacuum and EMC/EMI campaigns. Experience supporting mission operations activities. Familiarity with avionics redundancy architectures, fault management and reliability engineering.
