While each team member is hired for a primary position (such as Server / Cashier, Pizza Maker, Steam Cook / Prep, Dishwasher), due to sales volume fluctuations in any given restaurant and the various station responsibilities, each team member may be asked to assist in fulfilling other position duties. It is desirable that each Team Member be cross‑trained in each duty. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Server / Cashier Serve customers within the assigned station following prescribed methods and standards for guest service. Enhance sales through purchase suggestions, proper serving procedure, and checking for guest satisfaction. Maintain product knowledge, including ingredients, presentation, price, and specials. Receive payment for all transactions following prescribed methods and standards for guest service. Follow the Sbarro cash handling policy. Demonstrate full working knowledge of the Sbarro point‑of‑sale register system. Complete cleaning and stocking duties per daily operating procedure. Practice food safety and sanitation standards required of foodservice establishments. Follow established cost control systems, including employee food policy and waste guidelines. Assist other team members when required. Use gloves, utensils, and portions correctly; maintain temperature of hot food and attractive presentation. Communicate timely with co‑workers and management regarding food inventory and quality. Other duties as assigned. Pizza Maker Prepare all food products according to the Recipe Manual and Recipe Cards using safety and sanitary procedures. Accurately judge sales volume relative to pizza preparation and production. Communicate timely with co‑workers and management regarding food inventory and quality. Complete cleaning and stocking duties per daily operating procedure. Practice food safety and sanitation standards. Follow food safety time and temperature controls and cost control systems. Serve customers within the assigned station following prescribed methods and standards. Maintain product knowledge, ingredients, presentation, and price of all menu items and specials. Use equipment, gloves, utensils, and portions correctly; maintain temperature and presentation. Assist other team members when required. Other duties as assigned. Steam Cook / Prep Prepare all food products per Recipe Manual and Recipe Cards using safety and sanitary procedures. Operate all preparatory equipment (knives, steam cooker, dough machine, pizza oven, stove, etc.) safely and sanitarily. Work independently to prepare adequate product per production schedules. Maintain all displayed steam table items according to the Recipe Manual and local health requirements. Rotate all products in a FIFO manner. Follow food safety time and temperature controls and cost control systems. Dishwasher Maintain sink area, dining room tables and seating, floors, service stations, restrooms, and trash receptacles in a clean and sanitized manner. Clean and sanitize all trays, pots, pans, and utensils (except knives) per prescribed methods. Wash, clean, and sanitize storage areas, including walk‑in freezers and refrigerators. Serve customers as needed within the assigned station following prescribed methods and standards. Complete cleaning and stocking duties per operating procedures. Assist other team members when required. Use equipment, gloves, utensils, and portions correctly; maintain temperature and presentation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Follow all health and safety laws, policies, and procedures. Deliver food orders within specified time goals. Stand, walk, bend, and stoop for prolonged periods. Lift up to 50 pounds safely. Use kitchen knives effectively and safely. Communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, writing). Apply basic mathematical skills for accurate cash handling.
