The Smog Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring vehicles meet environmental regulations through accurate emissions testing and inspections. Working with a high volume of mixed vehicle types in a varied work environment, the technician interacts directly with customers while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct emissions testing and vehicle inspections efficiently
- Perform tests on a high volume of vehicles (20+ daily) across mixed types
- Interact professionally with customers to explain test results and procedures
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety protocols
- Document test results accurately and report any discrepancies
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in automotive diagnostics
- Knowledge of automotive emissions testing procedures
- Customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to safety awareness
