Job Details Type of Opportunity: Full time (FTE: 1.00). Job Exempt: No. Work Shift: Weekday, Monday-Friday. Responsibilities We are looking for a Physical Therapist to work as part of our Outpatient Rehabilitation Department. You will be a movement expert who improves quality of life through hands‑on care, patient education and prescribed movement. You will work with physical therapy assistants to treat people of all ages and abilities. Key duties include: Evaluate patients, develop plans and goals, and implement treatment programs to improve physical or developmental dysfunction and independence in activities of daily living. Continuously reassess treatment plans and goals. Educate and instruct patients, families, and others regarding home programs and preventive measures. Prepare written documentation as required by the profession and the department in a timely manner. Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers regarding patient care. Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Participate in educational programs, in‑services and meetings as required. Participate on special project teams and other related duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long‑term care, community‑based care and home‑health care. Pediatric Physical Therapist (Optional) Additional responsibilities when assigned to pediatric care: Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions, focusing on motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, and gait. Interview children and family members and use physical examination to diagnose movement disorders. Evaluate and treat patients from birth to 18 years. Float to adult units if needed when pediatric patient census fluctuates. Apply a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. Settings include inpatient and inpatient emergency department. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred. New Mexico license of Physical Therapy required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire. New graduates encouraged to apply.
