Assistant Property Manager – Commercial

Petaluma, CA | $33–$36/hour | Monday–Friday | Full-Time

We are recruiting for an Assistant Property Manager to join a growing commercial property management team in Petaluma. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with property management experience who wants to transition into or continue building a career in commercial real estate.

The Opportunity

The Assistant Property Manager will work closely with a Senior Property Manager and help oversee the day-to-day operations of a portfolio. This is a busy, tenant-facing position. The right person will be highly organized, responsive, and comfortable managing a significant volume of communication—while keeping work orders, vendors, tenant requests, and property needs moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for commercial tenants and respond promptly to requests
• Prepare, dispatch, track, and follow up on tenant work orders
• Assist with property management, maintenance, and construction activities
• Conduct regular property inspections
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors
• Assist with tenant move-ins and move-outs
• Support administration of leases, including triple-net (NNN) leases and Certificates of Insurance
• Assist with budgets and annual operating expense reconciliations
• Code invoices, review A/R reports, and assist with rent collections
• Maintain accurate tenant and property information in Yardi
• Support the Senior Property Manager with special projects and overall portfolio operations

What We're Looking For

Commercial property management experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates with residential property management experience are encouraged to apply, particularly those with strong tenant relations, work-order coordination, property inspection, and administrative experience.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to manage competing priorities, and committed to providing excellent tenant service.

Experience with Yardi, Outlook, Word, and Excel is a plus.

Position Details

Compensation: $33–$36/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
Location: Petaluma – on-site
Status: Full-time, non-exempt
