Regional Purchasing Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Purchasing Manager leads a team of Buyers to ensure the timely availability of quality materials needed to produce customer product. This role plans and leads all activities for raw material and packaging purchases across the region.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop and monitor supplier performance to metrics
• Lead VA/VE activities for indirect suppliers at company's fabrication sites as well as VA/VEs conducted at supplier locations
• Collect and analyze data on plant volumes and spend
• Develop and maintain compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
• Support the development of PFEP process across all regional locations
• Plan and lead activities to ensure partnership with timely, capable and competitive suppliers
• Responsible for leadership, performance, and results of Buyers
• Establish processes and methods for the timely and accurate maintenance of ERP system
• Lead strategy and daily accountability to the purchase of goods, materials, components, and services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Evaluate suppliers and hold suppliers accountable for performance
• Set work and process standards and expectations for Buyers
• Support escalation and provide resolution of issues arising from regional sites
• Establish and monitor accurate parts status reporting
• Drive improvements in inventory turns across all regional locations
• Perform other Purchasing tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field
• 5+ years in Supply Chain/Purchasing in the automotive manufacturing industry
• Leadership experience on time-critical projects
• Strong communication
• Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a high-pressure environment
• High level of dedication and strong work ethic
• Prior cross-functional experience
• Sense of urgency to remedy critical situations
• Strong problem-solving orientation and motivation to work around obstacles
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a positive, solution-orientated attitude
• Experience in project management, including project financials/ business case optimization
• Strong skills in leading cross-functional teams and across departmental / regional boundaries
• Desire to drive to root cause of issue to take appropriate steps to long-term resolution
