Registered Nurse (RN) - Children's ER

Position Information:

Role: Registered Nurse - Children's ER

Shift: 3x12, Nights

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36

Call Requirements: None

Licenses: NV RN license required prior to start

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC

Experience Required: Two years of experience in a Pediatric ER; excellent documentation skills; quality, compassionate patient and family interaction and care; comfort with pediatric resuscitation and care of critically ill children.

Additional Comments:

Travelers may be required to float to the needs of the organization up to their competency level.

Will be required to pick up an additional shift during the scheduled period.

The organization reserves the right to call off, without penalty, 48 hours for low census during the contract period. This may include full or partial shifts.

Schedule may vary based on department needs and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts.

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing optimal patient care by utilizing knowledge and skills within the nursing process. The Registered Nurse is accountable for individualized patient outcomes throughout the entire episode of care. Comprehensive nursing services are provided to pediatric patients, including their families or caregivers.

Essential Functions:

• Diagnose and treat health problems through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for pediatric patients.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the pediatric population served.
• Exhibit knowledge-based care and ongoing growth and learning to enhance patient care quality.
• Involve family members or significant others in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts when appropriate.
• Coordinate patient care with other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Exhibit mental effort to provide optimal, safe patient care and engage effectively with internal and external contacts, exercising sound judgment in decision-making.
