Floor Assembler IThe Floor Assembler I is an entry-level manufacturing role responsible for performing basic assembly tasks on the production floor in accordance with established work instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements. Working under close supervision, this position supports efficient production operations by assembling components, handling materials, and ensuring workmanship meets defined specifications. The role contributes to product quality, production output, and workplace safety while developing foundational manufacturing skills.Role OverviewThe Floor Assembler I supports manufacturing operations by performing routine, well-defined assembly tasks as part of a production team. The role follows detailed instructions, uses basic tools and equipment, and adheres to safety and quality procedures. Success is demonstrated through consistent task execution, attention to detail, and reliable support of production goals.Key ResponsibilitiesAssembly & Production SupportPerform basic assembly of components or subassemblies according to work instructionsUse hand tools, fixtures, and basic equipment as requiredFollow standardized assembly sequences and takt timesAssist with material handling, part staging, and workstation setupQuality & WorkmanshipAssemble products to required specifications and quality standardsPerform basic visual inspections to identify defects or non-conforming partsEscalate quality concerns or assembly issues to leads or supervisorsMaintain clean, organized, and efficient workstationsSafety & ComplianceFollow all safety rules, procedures, and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)Comply with manufacturing, quality, and housekeeping standardsReport safety concerns, incidents, or near misses promptlySupport adherence to 5S and continuous improvement practicesTeam Collaboration & CommunicationWork effectively as part of a production teamFollow supervisor direction and production prioritiesCommunicate issues related to materials, instructions, or equipmentSupport cross-training and shared workload across assembly areas as neededLearning & Skill DevelopmentLearn production processes, tools, and quality requirementsParticipate in on-the-job training and skill development activitiesDevelop reliability, consistency, and basic problem-solving skillsBuild foundational manufacturing knowledge for progression to higher assembly levelsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredEntry-level position; prior manufacturing, assembly, or hands-on experience helpful but not requiredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesBasic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learnAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to perform repetitive tasks in a production environmentBasic communication and teamwork skillsAbility to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical work as requiredCommitment to safety, attendance, and reliability$20-$22 per hourEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at NidecNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
