Facility Maintenance Technician

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on airport facilities and equipment. This position involves monitoring, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and reporting any issues that arise. Timely repairs are a priority to ensure minimal impact on customers. This role requires availability for on‑call support and a 2nd shift schedule (3:00 pm–11:30 pm). Responsibilities Conduct visual inspections throughout the terminal, concourse, stairwells, and other airport buildings to identify potential issues. Diagnose faulty equipment through observation and testing to maintain optimal performance. Replace mechanical components, such as electric motors, pumps, and conveyor systems. Read and interpret blueprints to address repair and maintenance requirements accurately. Enter and manage work orders to track maintenance activities. Assist in maintaining the Airport Certification Manual and ensure compliance with FAR Part 139 requirements. Perform related tasks as needed to support overall facility operations. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of modern office practices, equipment, and software applications, along with knowledge of safety procedures, electrical and plumbing systems, construction methods, and FAA regulations, including FAR Part 139 and Part 77. Experience with electric motor and pump replacement, as well as conveyor systems, is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and proficiency with hand and power tools are required. The candidate should also be highly organized, efficient in time management, be able to conduct visual inspections, identify structural or operational concerns, maintain accurate inspection records, manage supply inventories, and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. Minimum Qualifications 3–5 years' experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues; 6 months to 1 year of advanced study in a skilled trade; Hands‑on experience in plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanical work (less than 1 year required). Salary and Compensation The hiring range for this position is $41,691.46 to $54,198.90.
